The South Dakota Symphony

The Dakota Chamber Orchestra, came to the Goss Opera House downtown. Mom, Alvin, AnnMarie, and I were able to go.
It was such a treat! The music was sooo very peaceful! It's not very often you get such relaxing music like this....especially right here in Watertown!
As I told my mom.."it was a good experience for Watertown". I was very surprised how packed it was too! A good turn out, means they'll be back, which they said right away after they saw the crowd. [smile]
( while I waited for Alvin & AnnMarie to arrive, I told mom to go reserve some seats for us. Well thanks to mom, she got us 3rd row seats! Thank you Mom!) Talk about getting the whole affect! [smile]

Peter Kenote is a member of the New York philharmonic viola section.
If you have an idea what that is, you will know it was a great privilege to have him here.
He played a solo part to a song composed by Neal S. Harnly, who was there that evening.
The song Neal composed, had "Jesus Love Me" intertwined with the melody. It was so precious!

John Tomkins played a solo part on his bassoon. His brother Benjamin composed the piece he played. Benjamin was also there, playing his violin.
I will have to say, that im not a huge fan of bassoon, but this sounded awesome!

-special seating huh?! [grin]

The top balcony was packed! This pictures was taken during intermission, so you don't have the full affect, but it gives an idea. [grin]
